P.O.S.E. Power and Release: Asteya and Tapas
Asteya means non-stealing and offers that we not steal another’s property through action, speech or thoughts. This can also mean refraining from appropriation of cultures, ideas and passing them off as our own or not acknowledging their true origins. Tapas means to burn. Can we burn away ideas that depend on labels for others or ourselves? Can power and privilege exist without others being viewed as weak or being underprivileged? Can we ditch comparisons? In a true yoga practice, there is room for us all. Dianne will lead a discussion and practice with a focus on power and release of unnecessary “adornments” and unconscious patterns. Location: Ferguson Community Center
